Irvington is a great sparse suburban area located five miles east of downtown Indianapolis with Washington Street running straight through the middle from west to east.
It's an easy 15 minute commute to downtown Indy taking Washington Street, and also easy access to interstate 70 and interstate 465.
Irvington has a lot of restaurants, stores, bars and eateries. Jockamo Pizza, Strange Bird Tiki Bar and Hilltop Tavern are a few of the well-known dining establishments. Local parks include Dequincy Park, Christian Park, Forest Manor Park and Ellenberger Park. Ellenberger Park even includes a pool and tennis courts along with a seasonal farmer's market and local concerts. Pennsy Trail and Pleasant Run Trail are also nearby.
Irvington also has a library and great schools to choose from including public, private and charter schools right in the neighborhood. The businesses in this neighborhood have so many other great services to offer like Indy Cycle Specialist which is a full service bike shop and the Bona Thompson Center which is a restored structure of the original Butler University turned event center.
